Synopsis

Commissioned by the London-based Migrant and Refugee Communities Forum, Masaraat (Life Journeys) documents the experiences of a broad range of first and second generation Moroccan migrants to Britain, asking how memories
of Morocco shape their current identities in Britain.

The film was made for the MRCF to accompany their two-year long
Moroccan Oral History Project in which they recorded hundreds of hours
of interviews to document the experiences of Moroccan migrants in Britain.

The film premiered on December 1st, 2008 at the British Library where MRCF's project is housed. It received its first public screening at the Khalili Lecture Theatre at London's Schol of Oriental and African Studies and later toured the UK.
