Director & Co-Founder Saeed Taji Farouky is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and photographer. His films have been broadcast by Channel 4, Al-Jazeera International and the Canadian Broadcast Corporation amongst others. His print journalism and photography has been published by The Observer, The Guardian online, The Independent, The Telegraph, The Economist Group, Reuters and BBC Online amongst others.

In 2004 he founded Tourist With A Typewriter along with Gareth Keogh as a response to the scarcity of high-quality, accurate and personal documentary films. He was named Artist-in-Residence at Tate Britain in 2009, and in 2011 was named a Senior TED Fellow.

Co-Founder Gareth Keogh moved to London in 2000 after spending most of his life in the Middle East. An animator by training, he has worked extensively in the film and television industry for over 6 years, most recently as editor and producer of animated television ads. As co-founder of Tourist With A Typewriter, he is a documentary filmmaker and editor.

Joe Lewis is head of South London's Dojo Studios and an accomplished musician and musical producer. In his work with Tourist With A Typewriter, he is a sound editor, soundtrack composer, and all-round co-conspirator.

Marie-Therese Garvey is a Filmmaker and Producer, specialising in documentaries. As well as developing her own projects, she has collaborated with Tourist on a number films over the past year. Before coming to film Mar worked as a music journalist for 5 years in Sydney, Australia. She holds a Master’s Degree in Media and Communications and a Post Grad in Practical Filmmaking from Met Film School, based at Ealing Studios. Mar is also a keen long distance runner, having participated in the 2011 Saharamarathon

Laila El-Haddad is a respected Palestinian freelance journalist based between Gaza and the United States. She is a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and her work has been published and broadcast on Al-Jazeera online, Guardian Unltd, The New Statesman, The Washington Post, Pacifica’s Free Speech Radio News and BBC World. She recently directed Where Do The Children Play? and co-directed Tunnel Trade for Al-Jazeera International.
